Carrasco (1-0) earned the win over the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing just two runs on four hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco had a terrific concept of the strike zone Tuesday, throwing 68 percent of his pitches for the strikes, and his only real blemish came on a long Joey Gallo home run in the second inning. The club limited Carrasco's pitches as he continues to fully build up his stamina, but this was certainly a positive step toward his ultimate goal in that regard. He should be expected to near 90 pitches in his next start Tuesday against the White Sox.
