Carlos Quentin (shoulder) is out of the Padres' lineup for the seventh straight game Friday. Quentin hasn't played since last Friday due to a sore left shoulder, but Padres manager Bud Black still thinks he will avoid a stint on the disabled list. Kyle Blanks will start in left field Friday while Jesus Guzman will play first base.
