Carlos Quentin (knee) thinks he could return for the beginning of the Padres' road trip on Friday. Quentin began a rehab assignment last Tuesday and has been encouraged by how his surgically-repaired knee has felt. He's currently at High-A Lake Elsinore, and it sounds like he could join the Padres in Philadelphia over the weekend. Quentin batted .254/.340/.499 with 24 homers last year for the White Sox, and the Padres will be counting on him as a middle-of-the-order threat.
