Carlos Quentin (knee) is not in the Padres' starting lineup Thursday against the Diamondbacks. Qunetin returned to action Wednesday, going 1-for-2 with a run scored, but his surgically-repaired right knee has begun acting up again. It doesn't make much sense for the out-of-contention Friars to keep him active.
