Carlos Quentin (knee) hit in a simulated game Tuesday. Quentin is making good progress from right knee surgery, but Padres manager Bud Black said he still needs to full speed and slide before he can begin a minor league rehab assignment. There's a good chance that will happen in the next seven to 10 days, but he's unlikely to come off the disabled list until the second week of May at the earliest.
