Carlos Marmol said Monday that a civil suit against him in his native Dominican Republic was dropped. Marmol was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in January, but denied any wrongdoing and brought a countersuit alleging extortion. Police investigated the woman's claim, but found insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges. Marmol did not pay a settlement to resolve the case.
