Carl Pavano (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with the Twins' Gulf Coast League team Thursday. He threw a live batting practice session Monday with no issues, clearing the way for him to test his shoulder out in game action. Pavano, who has been out since early June with a right anterior capsular strain, will throw 40 pitches in the outing. He'll likely need at least a couple more addition rehab starts before rejoining the Twins' rotation.
