Carl Pavano (shoulder) was clocked only at 85-86 mph during his rehab start with High-A Fort Myers Thursday. It's not far off from what Pavano was throwing earlier this season for the Twins, when his average fastball was clocked at 86.8 mph, according to Fangraphs.com. But, the right-hander admitted that he would "like to see the velocity come back a little more." The good news is that Pavano threw three scoreless innings and his shoulder feels much better, though he concedes that he's "dealing with it just being a little dead, where it's just not coming alive as quick as I'd like to." Pavano will throw another rehab game Tuesday and remains hopeful of rejoining the Twins' rotation later this month.
