Cardinals signed RHP Pat Neshek to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Neshek, 33, had a 3.35 ERA and 29/15 K/BB ratio in 40 1/3 innings last season with the Athletics. The sidearmer is nice depth to have around for St. Louis, but it could be a challenge for him to win a bullpen job in the spring.
