The St. Louis Cardinals agreed to a contract extension with infielder Matt Carpenter on Wednesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold. Carpenter is batting just .214 (9-for-42) with a homer and three RBI in the early going, but the 33-year-old is a must-own in all fantasy leagues after he clubbed a career-high 36 homers and drove in 81 runs in 2018 in 156 games with the Cardinals. Terms of the extension have yet to be released.
