Cardinals optioned RHP Fernando Salas to Triple-A Memphis. Salas gave up three runs over 1 2/3 innings in Monday's loss to the Pirates, so the Cardinals sent him down in order to get a fresh arm for Tuesday's doubleheader. He should be back later this summer.
