Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Adam Wainwright would not start on short rest if the team advances to the NLCS. Wainwright would be available for Game 3 and then a potential Game 7 of the NLCS on regular rest, but the Cards currently have Kyle Lohse lined up for those starts and have no plans to alter things. "Given where he is and what he's experienced, we think that's the prudent stance to take," general manager John Mozeliak said of Wainwright. "We've watched him closely and listen to what he has to say about how he feels. Based on that, we don't see a need to change anything."
