Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak will offer Chris Carpenter a front office role or another job elsewhere in the organization. Carpenter will retire this offseason due to injuries. We touched on some things before the season ended, but obviously with everything going on in October, we never really ironed anything out." The 38-year-old right-hander won the National League Cy Young Award in 2005 and possesses two World Series rings (from 2006 and 2011).
