Capuano (quadriceps) was officially activated from the 15-day DL on Sunday in advance of his start against the Royals. The Yankees optioned reliever Bryan Mitchell to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Capuano, who will be making his season debut for the Yankees. The 36-year-old covered 10.2 innings across his two rehab starts at Triple-A, striking out seven batters and posting a 2.53 ERA. He'll likely stick around as the Yankees' fifth starter until Masahiro Tanaka (forearm) or Chase Whitley (elbow) returns from the DL.
