Miami Marlins starting pitcher Caleb Smith had a solid outing in the win over the Tigers. The lefty threw for five innings, giving up runs off of a 377 foot solo shot to right field by JaCoby Jones in the bottom of the third inning in addition to a single by Miguel Cabrera that scored one more.
