Cain recently had a cyst removed from his right upper arm, but he should resume throwing in approximately 10 days, (hamstring) will likely throw off a mound Friday or Saturday for the first time this spring, the San Francisco Chronicle's John Shea reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the cyst is only a minor issue, Cain will now be on a delayed schedule this spring, perhaps hurting his chances to beat out Jake Peavy or Chris Heston for one of the final two rotation spots. Cain should still be available by Opening Day if he's able to resume throwing within the next couple weeks.
