Cain (forearm) is slated to come off the DL on Thursday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Cain, who made his last rehab start Friday at Triple-A Sacramento, is slated to rejoin the team Thursday, one day before Jake Peavy is expected to come off the DL. San Francisco will send Tim Lincecum (arm) to the DL on Thursday to free up a spot for Cain, but manager Bruce Bochy would not reveal how the team plans to accommodate both Cain and Peavy returning to the rotation. The prevailing thought is that Tim Hudson is the primary candidate to fall out of the rotation.
