Cain (forearm) conceded two runs over 5.2 innings during his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Sacramento. He gave up four hits and two walks and struck out four while throwing 98 pitches. With Cain working his pitch count up the century mark and showing no obvious setbacks in the outing -- the fourth of his rehab assignment -- he'll likely be cleared to reclaim a spot in the Giants' rotation early next week. It's not obvious at this time who Cain might replace in the rotation, but the struggling Tim Hudson could be the top candidate to lose his starting role. While Cain was rehabbing with Sacramento, Hudson took the hill for the Giants on Friday, giving up 10 hits and five runs over six innings to bring his ERA up to 4.68 and his WHIP up to 1.38 over 92.1 innings this season.
