Cain (elbow) is expected to make his first start of spring training against the Dodgers on Monday, CSN Bay Area reports. Cain was originally expected to be held out of games until mid-March, but the fact that he is going to start Monday is a positive sign regarding the health of his elbow. His velocity will be something to watch, as Cain claimed that his arm strength was the best it has ever felt after undergoing a procedure to remove bone chips in his elbow this offseason. Assuming this outing - and future spring outings - go smoothly, then Cain should be penciled in for a mid-rotation spot come Opening Day.
