Cain allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings, but received no decision Friday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
In his first start after having a cyst removed from his pitching arm at the beginning of spring training, this should be classified as a very effective start for Cain. Despite leaving the game with a 2-0 deficit, the offense got him off the hook with a pair of runs in the eighth inning. After seeing his ERA and WHIP steadily climb each season since 2013, the 31-year-old hurler will look to get his career back on track in 2016. His next start will be Thursday at the Rockies.
