Byrd (wrist) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday. Byrd's broken wrist would inevitably lead to a stint on the disabled list, and now the move has become official. The Reds recalled Ivan De Jesus Jr. to take his spot on the 25-man roster, and released Donald Lutz in corresponding moves. While he may return at some point later in the season, the injury will likely cost him his $8 million vesting option for reaching 550 plate appearances.
