Byrd will likely bat sixth for the Reds, the Cincinnati Enquirer surmises. The Reds received $4 million in the deal along with Byrd in exchange for Ben Lively. Byrd isn't much of an on-base guy, but even getting league-average power would be a quantum leap over what the Reds received in left field in 2013, and there wasn't much available on the free agent market that would have been better.
