Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Red Sox are "among the teams in contact" with Jason Bay. Bay would prefer to sign with a West Coast team, but to this point only two East Coast teams -- the Red Sox and Indians -- are known to have shown interest. Olney adds that Bay is "looking for opportunity, familiarity," which is something Boston might be able to offer him. The veteran outfielder was cut loose by the Mets last week.
