Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that Chris Coghlan is headed to the disabled list, as opposed to Triple-A New Orleans, after he informed the Marlins of a pre-existing knee issue. Coghlan was optioned to the minors on Friday after posting a lowly .230/.296/.368 batting line this season. It was thought that he was dealing with a nagging shoulder injury, but apparently his knee was also an issue. He'll continue to accrue service time while on the disabled list.
