Broxton agreed to a two-year contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran reliever will rejoin the Cardinals on a two-year deal after having his team option declined by the club shortly after the season's conclusion. Broxton had a rocky first half in 2015, but settled in nicely down the stretch with a 2.28 ERA and 9.4 K/9 mark after the All-Star break. He figures to again be a fixture in the seventh and eighth innings for the Cardinals in 2016.
