Bronson Arroyo allowed three runs over five frames in Monday's loss to the Cardinals.

He gave up six hits and a walk while striking out six. Arroyo had thrown only 73 pitches and surely had more in the tank, but Reds manager Dusty Baker chose to pull him and make sure the righty is well rested for his first postseason start. The veteran bounced back nicely from a disappointing 2011 campaign with a 3.74 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 32 starts this year.
