Brignac has elected to become a free agent Tuesday after being cut by the Marlins, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Brignac could have began the season with Triple-A Nashville after being cut from major league camp, but he'll hope another club gives him a shot at the major league roster instead. The 29-year-old slashed just .222/.300/.346 in 37 games with the Phillies in 2014.
