Brian Wilson will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Thursday. There was a slight bit of doubt that he would need it after an exam revealed a "moderate" sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament but not a full tear. But, this has been considered the most likely route, and Dr. James Andrews will cut Wilson open Thursday. It will be the second Tommy John procedure for the closer, and he could be sidelined into the 2013 campaign. Santiago Casilla will handle the closer role for the Giants for the time being.
