Brian McCann and the Yankees are close on a five-year deal worth more than $80 million, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The Yankees suffered through the 2013 season with Chris Stewart and Austin Romine behind the plate, so they obviously made catcher a priority this offseason. In McCann they're targeting the best option available on the free agent market. The left-handed McCann should enjoy the short porch in right field at Yankee Stadium. He's hit at least 20 home runs in each of the last six seasons. The Rockies were also in on McCann and made a late run at the 29-year-old, Rosenthal said.
