Brian Costa of the Wall Street Journal reports that David Wright has agreed to reduce his 2013 salary to $8 million. The Mets picked up Wright's $16 million club option back in October, but he'll actually make half of that in 2013 under the terms of the new deal. This could give the Mets some more flexibility to add some players in the coming days and weeks. As part of the new pact, he has also agreed to defer $15 million until after 2020.
