Brendan Ryan went 3-for-6 with a walk, a double, a home run and two runs scored in a 14-inning loss against the Blue Jays Tuesday. It was his first multi-hit game and first double since July 7, his first RBI since July 8 and his first home run of the season. The slick-fielding shortstop is nobody's idea of an ideal No. 2 hitter despite his placement in Seattle's lineup. He's now hitting .254/.315/.321 on the season.
