Braves' manager Fredi Gonzalez plans to have Gattis in his lineup "as frequently as possible" during the closing month of the season, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
Gattis will make his third straight start for the Braves on Sunday, and it sounds as if Gonzalez doesn't plan on letting up. The 28-year-old backstop is slugging .513 on the season with 22 home runs, and the Braves certainly need that bat in the lineup if they intend on competing for one of the final NL playoff spots. It appears Gattis will start all three games of the upcoming series against the Nationals, and followed by a Thursday team day off, the catcher could get some "rest" by serving as the DH in the following series on the road against the Rangers.
