Braves GM Frank Wren confirmed Saturday that Brian McCann (shoulder) will not play in a minor league game before April 16. McCann has been taking batting practice without any issues, but throwing remains his biggest challenge. The Braves are currently limiting him to long-tossing from a distance of 120 feet and he still isn't ready to make throws to second base. McCann will open the season on the disabled list, and it sounds like late-April is a best case scenario for his return.
