Brantly (thumb) was activated form the disabled list and optioned to Double-A Birmingham on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Brantly's rehab assignment with Double-A hasn't gone well offensively, as he's gone just 2-for-17 at the dish in four games. The White Sox have decided to stick with Tyler Flowers and Geovany Soto behind the plate for now, but an injury to either of the two backstops could lead to a recall for Brantly.

You know the guy can't hit MLB pitching if the catching-poor Marlins let the guy go.
