Brandon Workman has lost the appeal of his six-game suspension for throwing at the Rays' Evan Longoria late last month. He'll begin serving the suspension immediately. Workman had been scheduled to start Friday, but Felix Doubront (shoulder) will likely now be brought off the disabled list to take the ball against the A's.
