Brandon Phillips went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the Reds' 3-1 win against the Giants on Thursday. Phillips was returning to the lineup after sitting out since Sunday with heel discomfort. He didn't want to miss this party: Phillips came in 8-for-16 with two doubles in his career against Giants' starter Ryan Vogelsong. Interestingly, he went 0-for-2 against Vogelsong tonight before taking Jean Machi deep and singling off Juan Gutierrez. The second baseman has batted .277/.308/.405 with six homers and 34 RBI.
