Brandon Phillips left Wednesday's game against the Cubs with a sprained left thumb. The injury initially appeared to be to his wrist, but the Reds clarified shortly after. Phillips hurt the thumb diving for a ball in the eighth inning. X-rays on the thumb came back negative, a good sign, but there's still no indication of how much time he might miss with the injury. We likely won't see him until after the All-Star break regardless.
