Brandon McCarthy surrendered four runs over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Giants. Par for the course for McCarthy this year. What was odd about his rough April (0-3, 7.48 ERA) was that he was so poor while surrendering just three homers in his five starts. Tonight he was a more traditional kind of bad, giving up long balls to Angel Pagan and Hunter Pence. The home run ball figured to be more of a problem for him in Arizona than it was in Oakland; so far, he's given up three homers at Chase, one in Colorado and another in Yankee Stadium.
