Brandon Lyon said Tuesday morning that he's not aiming to take Frank Francisco's closer job. "I'm here to make everyone else better, and be consistent," said Lyon, who signed a one-year contract with the Mets last week. "That's where I want to be in my career. . If I can make the team better and everyone else in the bullpen better, that's what I'm going to do." Lyon is saying all the right things right now, but he might eventually find himself in the closer role if Francisco continues to struggle.
