Boyd (5-4) was crushed for 3.2 innings, allowing seven runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out two in Tuesday's loss to the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The outing was far and away Boyd's worst since returning from the DL in early July. Before Tuesday, he hadn't allowed more than three runs in an outing since June 18 while posting a 5-1 record over 10 starts in that time. Getting hammered by one of MLB's worst lineups can certainly be discouraging for fantasy owners, but Boyd's second-half performance to date is deserving of at least one free pass. The southpaw will look to rebound when he toes the rubber for his next start Sunday in Cleveland.
