Bowman was credited with his seventh hold of the season in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Reds but surrendered three earned runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning. He also recorded a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
After firing 19.2 scoreless innings between September 6 of last season and April 25, Bowman has now surrendered five earned runs over 1.2 innings in two of his last three appearances. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up an RBI double to Adam Duvall and run-scoring single to Eugenio Suarez before getting the hook, and another RBI double from Scott Schebler yielded by Brett Cecil produced the third run on Bowman's ledger. Despite the recent bumps in the road, the young reliever has a sparkling 0.89 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB over 12.1 innings.
