Boesch (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Three days with the affiliate is all Boesch is expected to need to get back up to speed before rejoining the big league club. It's possible Boesch could take on a fair share of the playing time in left field upon his return, but he's gone just 9-for-66 with two extra-base hits, 23 strikeouts and three walks with the Reds so far this season (.341 OPS).
