Blue Jays purchased the contract of RHP Ramon Ortiz. Ortiz was designated for assignment earlier this week, but is needed now that is Brandon Morrow (forearm) is on the disabled list. The 40-year-old left-hander has a 5.01 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 24 innings with the Blue Jays.
