Blanks, who was 4-for-5 with a home run Saturday night, will make his fourth straight start Sunday against the Athletics. As long as Blanks stays hot, he can be penciled in as the starting first baseman in manager Jeff Banister's lineup. The 28-year-old slashed .327/.419/.635 over 62 plate appearances in Triple-A before earning the call-up, and should continue to see regular playing time until Mitch Moreland (elbow) is cleared to return. Blanks has started against both left and right-handed pitching, and appears to have the upper hand over Adam Rosales in the battle for playing time.
