Blake Beavan was sterling in his major-league debut on Sunday afternoon, holding the Padres to just one run on three hits in seven innings of Seattle's 3-1 victory at home. An exceptional outing, but one that needs to be taken with a rather large grain of salt, as Beavan was pitching against perhaps the worst offensive team in baseball in one of its most pitcher-friendly stadiums. He's not currently worth a flier in AL-only leagues.
