Blake Beavan allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings on Monday, improving to 2-2 in Seattle's 8-4 win over the A's. He struck out three. With Doug Fister and Erik Bedard now both out of the picture in Seattle, Beavan's rotation spot is secure indefinitely. Making half of his starts in pitcher-friendly Safeco Field, he wouldn't be a huge leap of faith as a flier in deeper mixed leagues. Just know that he won't keep up at this rate, however.
