Blackmon failed to record a hit in four plate appearances during Friday's loss to the Giants, but did steal his seventh base of the season after drawing a third-inning walk. Blackmon is batting just .238 in May and has seen his power output decline in recent weeks, but he's compensated for it by going a perfect 5-for-5 on stolen-base attempts during the month. The 28-year-old once seemed at risk of falling into a center-field platoon early in the season, but with the Rockies missing Corey Dickerson (plantar fasciitis) from their lineup and the struggling Drew Stubbs heading back to the minors, it looks like Blackmon will top the order just about every night for the foreseeable future.
