Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that the Nationals "are in constant discussions" about what to do at second base next season. The Nats love Danny Espinosa's defense, and he can offer fine production when he's hot. But, he's been very streaky and has often struggled from the left side of the plate, batting .227/.306/.393 for his career, as compared to a .276/.346/.467 line from the right side. It seems unlikely that he would be totally discarded in favor of Steve Lombardozzi, but, at the very least, Lombardozzi could start seeing more playing time against right-handed pitching.
