Beltran went 1-for-5 with his eighth homer of the year, two RBI, two runs and three strikeouts against the Royals on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
He's been flashing the ol' power lately, compiling a .308/.372/.667 batting line with four homers and 10 RBI over his last nine games. That's quite the change of pace after Beltran put up a .652 OPS over his first 42 contests this season. He looked rejuvenated at age 39 last year, but Beltran hasn't been able to carry that over now that he's 40. Of course, he looked ready for the dustbin in 2014, only to recover with two more productive seasons, so it's hard to count Beltran out quite yet. He retains some fantasy value in deeper formats and is worth monitoring in shallower ones in case this hot run continues.
