Beltran batted sixth for the first time this season and went 1-for-4 with a home run in Friday's 2-0 win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran has not been the impact bat Houston thought it was getting when the team signed him during the offseason. Hence, manager A.J. Hinch's decision to drop to the six-hole after he'd previously hit second, fourth or fifth. After a night off Thursday, Beltran returned to the lineup Friday with a .234/.278/.373 slash line in 158 at-bats. Opportunities out of the six-hole will be fewer than if Beltran were comfortably ensconced with Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa, but he has a proven track record as a hitter and could earn his way back up the order.
